Co-Authors and siblings, Joseph Massie and Rosalie Massie Blackburn, were once borders at St. Ann's Orphanage in the early 1950's. As they searched for information about the institution they found very little. After a year-long search they were able to gather enough information to provide the most up to date historical timeline of the orphanage. They also found numerous blogs with stories told by other past residents. Increased posts on their Facebook page provided more insight into the past of St. Ann's Orphanage. With all this information at hand they took on the task of publishing 'The Ghosts of St. Ann's Past, the Stories of St. Ann's Orphanage Worcester, Massachusetts.' Now the world can read, first hand, the plight of over 11,000 children who, through no fault of their own, had to endure a life in this orphanage.
