The Great Amen: Finding Our Place in David's Song of Thanks (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798257959691)

Worship that begins at the altar and ends at the kitchen table.

In a single, ambitious morning on Mount Zion, King David did more than throw a parade for the returning Ark of the Covenant-he organized a permanent institution of praise. The Great Amen is a verse-by-verse exploration of 1 Chronicles 16, walking through one of the most significant psalms in the Old Testament from the first sacrifice to the final, thunderous agreement of the people.

Author Aaron Gordon, a healthcare professional and lifelong student of scripture, brings a unique "go deep, but don't lose the room" approach to this study. Written for ordinary believers who want to take the Word of God seriously, this book follows the three great arcs of David's song:

• Backward into Memory: Anchoring the soul in the wonders, the covenant, and the invisible shield God provides for His people.

• Outward into Mission: Proclaiming the glory of the Creator among the nations and recognizing the "worthless nothings" of modern idols.

• Upward into Rejoicing: Joining the cosmic symphony of a creation that awaits its coming King and Judge.

More than a historical curiosity, this study reveals why David's song is more ours today than it ever was Israel's. Weaving together insights from classic commentators like Spurgeon and Matthew Henry with a sharp focus on the "New Covenant" fulfillment in Christ, The Great Amen challenges you to move beyond event-driven worship into a life of regular, daily devotion.

Inside you will find:

• Fourteen in-depth chapters covering the theology of sacrifice, the beauty of holiness, and the "Great Amen" Himself.

• "Reflect & Discuss" questions at the end of each chapter, perfect for individual devotions or small group settings.

• A "Note on Hebrew" and "Note on Greek" to help illuminate the original text without requiring a seminary degree.

It is time to find your place in the procession. Whether you are a "hidden laborer" in your church or a seeker looking for the face of God, let the great Amen of Mount Zion echo in your heart and your home.

"His mercy endures forever."
