Nikki Dee believes she was born knowing how to read, and once started simply didn't stop. She reads for pleasure, education, inspiration and occasionally to garner gossip from the gutter. Nikki's fondest memory is of the day her father gave her her own library ticket and, along with it, the freedom to read what she wanted. She began with the Famous Five and swore if she ever had a dog he would be called Timmy. Nikki moved onto Mallory Towers and developed an abiding love for midnight feasts, which, regrettably continues to this day. Eventually she was drawn to the works of Jaqueline Susann and Grace Metalious though she prefers not to reveal all she learned at their knees. She then spiced things up with large portions of Agatha Christie and John Creasey. By some miracle Charles Dickens crossed her path, he opened her eyes, and her mind. She went on to develop a deep appreciation for him, the Brontes and Thackeray. In between reading and writing Nikki mis-spent her youth mired in Sales Management until one day common sense prevailed. She gave it all up, opened a small book shop and devoted herself to writing (and reading).
