James T. Lee is a North Carolina Renaissance Man. As a published poet and author of short stories, he models these genres for his students at South Creek Middle School in Robersonville where he was named Teacher of the Year for 2014-15. As a published essayist, he shares his writing skills with his Developmental English students at Nash Community College in Rocky Mount. As Music Director at All Saints' Church in Roanoke Rapids from 2004 to 2014, he composed hymns and anthems for worship. Jim combined these experiences to compose the score for A Christmas Carol at NashArts in Nashville in 2010. This achievement led to his writing two full musical dramas, Letters from Laura, which was produced at NashArts in June 2012 and again in September 2014, and Keeping Score, which he also directed, in October 2013. His contemporary musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol is currently in production at NashArts.
