This was the question of one who, as we are told, had no commerce with the people of God. But it is otherwise with those who know, and seek to partake of this sacred fountain. The well is the Heart of Jesus, ever overflowing for those who approach It with a contrite heart, and full of the thise with Its sufferings, and endeavour to repair Its griefs. Whoever, therefore, meditates devoutly on the Agony of the Heart of our Divine Lord has wherewith to draw this living water, and will partake in fulness of the promises of our Divine Master: He that shall drink of the water that I shall give him shall not thirst for ever, but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a fountain of water springing up unto everlasting life.
