The Inner Storm (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781974133567)

Zhen Woo is Asian-American. His father, a soldier in the American army, disappeared after a brief two-week affair with Su, a Thai woman, barely nineteen years old. She lived in a corrugated structure along the fringe of the city of Bangkok in an overcrowded, sometimes dangerous slum community. Life was difficult for her, and the child became an unwanted burden.
By age ten, Zhen had grown tall and gaunt. His eyes were narrow like his mother's, but the resemblance to his father was more prominent. His mother began to resent his very existence.
One night, Zhen found the secret his mother had kept hidden from him all his years. She caught him and flew into a rage. Physical conflict ensued. She beat him to the ground with a piece of firewood. Zhen feared for his life. He grabbed the weapon and struck her one fatal blow.
In the darkness, orphans sometimes disappeared, victims of predators of all types, unnoticed and without anyone's concern. It happened one night. Zhen's life changed forever. He became a soldier in a different kind of army, groomed by the Master of a criminal organization. Chang Yung, Leader of The Red Dragon Gang, would have his vengeance fulfilled by the young assassin in the death of John Warner's entire family.
This novel will hold you in suspense with moments of fear, make you smile, and maybe bring a few tears.
