Maureen McArdle O'Donnell was born in Brooklyn, New York. After living overseas in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, her family relocated to Yorktown, New York. A graduate of St. Patrick's parochial school in Yorktown and Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, she attended Siena College achieving a Bachelor of Arts in History and English with secondary education certifications. At the University of Harford, Ms. O'Donnell was awarded a Masters in Special Education. She is currently employed as a social studies teacher at Lakeland High School and is an adjunct professor at Marist College and Mount St. Mary College. She lives in the Hudson Valley with her three children. The Kite Eaters is her first book of poetry.
