A member of the Australian Society of Authors and a diploma graduate of the World Renown Writing School, Alida van den Bos was born in Arnhem and later educated in Tilburg. With her husband and two children, Alida emigrated to Australia in 1959 where adventure beckoned and the family tried opal digging in Coober Pedy and Lightning Ridge where she wrote at every opportunity, using life experiences to produce a series of short stories.
