The Last Hostage: A DCI Shand Crime Thriller (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781636324616)

Gripping thriller from a New York Times bestselling author.

An ingenious gang, an unpredictable detective, and a wild ride of a plot. Can DCI Shand solve the case before he's sacked?

A clever kidnapping gang has plagued SW England for months. The Wessex Police Commissioner has had enough and forces the Chief Constable to replace the detective in charge. Enter DCI Shand, the loosest of loose cannons. He's a talented detective, but has problems with authority, and an open relationship with the truth.

A battle of wits ensues. The gang's ever-evolving MO shows just how brilliant they can be. But Shand's catching on fast. And he doesn't play by the rules, much to the anger of the Assistant Chief Constable who wants him sacked.

Shand doesn't care. He's relentless, with one focus - safely freeing the hostages and catching the gang - and he's prepared to do anything to achieve that.

It's a wild, twist-filled ride.

This standalone novel is the second book in the DCI Shand series.
