Absolutely smash that purchase button if you dare to embark on an electrifying, hallucinogenic narrative experience that grabs you by the collar from the get-go. Get ready to descend into the utterly bizarre and compelling realm of "The Last Resort, or How to Succeed in the Music Industry" by Matti Charlton-a whirlpool of psychedelic-influenced storytelling that breaks the fourth wall in literature, pulling you into its hypnotic, pulsating heart with each turn of the page.
From the dizzying, acid-infused discussions at a Manhattan café to the echoing silence of unfulfilled dreams in the unforgiving world of the 21st-century music industry analysis, every chapter delivers an unprecedented interactive narrative in fiction, pulling you deeper into this meta-narrative writing style where the line between the author and the reader violently blurs, spiraling into an intricate dance of reality and hallucination, peppered with laugh-out-loud humor and the raw, bleeding heartbeat of human emotion.
The unusual cast-Ted, Frank, Wendy, Brody, and the cheekily self-aware Narrator-guides you through a landscape of heartache, hilarity, and razor-sharp insights into the realities of the modern music industry, a world teeming with personal sacrifice, self-doubt, and the mind-bending possibilities unleashed through unconventional narrative techniques. Imagine being led on a frenzied, fly-on-the-wall tour of the most unpredictable music industry journey, a no-holds-barred exploration of fame, legacy, and the very fabric of narrative itself, steering through heart-warming moments of homely bliss to mind-warping, hallucinogenic narrative experiences that challenge your very perception of fiction.
Experience the raw, pulsating heart of a narrative that plays with time, messes with your head, and offers a breathtaking fictional exploration of fame and legacy, a tale carved from the flesh and bone of the modern music industry's harsh realities. It unflinchingly unveils a metaverse where the meta-narrative constantly shape-shifts, where characters are painfully real and yet not, in a story punctuated with mind-altering drugs, surreal scenarios, and heart-rending personal sacrifices.
Don't just read-participate, anticipate, question, and interact in a pulsating, living organism of a story that refutes passive consumption, demanding your engagement, your emotions, your very soul as it unfolds a complex tale bursting with heartbreaking realities, psychedelic storytelling, and hallucinogenic narrative experiences that constantly defy your expectations. This isn't just a book-it's a seething, living entity, a masterful exploration of the fourth wall in literature, a journey through the visceral realities of the modern music industry; it's an exhilarating rollercoaster ride that refuses to be anything less than mind-blowing.
Throw every expectation out the window, because "The Last Resort, or How to Succeed in the Music Industry" isn't just groundbreaking-it shatters the very concept of narrative, offering a unique, interactive narrative in fiction that's as unpredictable as it is unputdownable. It's a must-read for anyone daring enough to venture into the uncharted territories of the human psyche, into the wild, untamed frontiers of narrative itself.
With "The Last Resort" in your hands, the fourth wall doesn't just break; it explodes, leaving you gasping for more. A masterpiece of meta-narrative writing style woven with potent 21st-century music industry analysis-it's not just a novella, it's a revolution. Seize it. Experience the hallucinogenic narrative phenomena that is Matti Charlton's surreal brainchild, plunging headfirst into the vibrant, chaotic realms of revolutionary fiction that refuses to be confined. This is not just a book; it's an addiction waiting to happen. Dive in. The trip of a lifetime awaits.

Read the first book and this 2nd one did not disappoint! Loved every chapter. More please!
Like it was written by George Santos
Received an Advanced Reader Copy from a friend. I am an avid true crime reader and upon completion I question if the author is credible. The timeline does not add up for his age and the times of his alleged involvement in organized crime. Some of the things in the book he is alleged to have said and done I remember almost word for word from movies I had previously watched. He literally stole a scene from the movie the accountant with Ben Affleck and said that he did it. I did a little research after completing the book and learned that this author was also claiming in 2010 that he was a long time member of the Bloods Gang. That coupled with the above leads me to believe that it is nothing more than fantasy. Do not waste your time or money

What a difficult story to tell. I appreciate the honesty and vulnerability. Definitely made me think.
I had hopes for this book but was not expecting what I would read within the pages. If your kink is deplorable grammar, incoherent sentences, and inconsistent messages, then this book is for you. At first, I thought the book I received was not the book I ordered. But as I dived in, it was very confusing. I would not recommend this book to anyone
There are not many reviews on the internet for this book. In researching the many stores selling the book, it was self-published which makes a lot of sense. The online description is written perfectly, so reading the actual book was very difficult. Pages two and three are written clearly as well as the table of contents. Pages 155 and 156 are also written logically.
It appears this book was written, then sent through a program like “Grammarly.” Once completed it seems it was published without being re-read or edited. The first clue was the title narrative that used “Has” instead of “As.” The table of contents is one page off from what it shows on pages four though seven. Many of the “q’s” are written as “[]”
Below are some examples of what was within the pages of this book written verbatim:
“Chains & Discipline/ Domination & entry/ Sadism & Masochism (BDSM) is a wide classification of bed room play.” Page 9
“When bringing up the topic of chains, you are actually asking a person to offer you their depend on, their flexibility, and also possibly their suggestion of security in exchange for sensual/sexual enjoyment, power-play, and also feasible re-evaluation of your very own connection.” Page 39
“Techni[]ue can take a selection of kinds and also be as easy or facility as you pick to (new paragraph) bargain for your details scenario” Page 52
“BDSM stands for chains as well as entry, technique and also supremacy as well as sadism and also masochism.” Page 125
“SHELF means Risk Aware Consensual Kink.” Page 130
“Approval is whatever.” Page 152
“your twist isn’t my twist, yet your twist is OKAY.” Page 153
“You can be a top, base, or button” Page 153
