This is a report of the effects that having seizures has on a person. Not only did I have to deal with the physical effects that they had on me but also the effect of not knowing what was causing them. I went to doctors for twenty five years before my problem was found. This was something that made was wonder why my problem was so hard to locate when compared to others. When my problem was found it made major changes in my life. Some of these changes were good while others were ones that would have to be dealt with. When compared to the seizures that I was having before these effects were much easier to deal with than the multiple seizures that I was having every month.

Darwin H. Hayes was born in 1964 in rural Missouri and spent his life until he was thirty having seizures and noticed as time passed by they were getting worse. After 25 years of going to neurologists his problem was found and a sclerosis was removed from his left temporal lobe. This was a trying time wondering if his problem was imaginary. When this problem was found it opened up a new life for him and he often tells people that it was at that point that his life began that he is living now.
