xDiane Brantley is a Professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Foundations in the College of Education at California State University, San Bernardino. Dr. Brantley comes to the university setting with 11 years of elementary and middle school teaching experience. For seven years, she served as the Director of the university's Literacy Center that provides K-12 students with language arts tutoring services. In 2007, Dr. Brantley published a book entitled, Instructional Assessment of English Language Learners in the K-8 Classroom through Allyn & Bacon Publishers. She recently completed a five year grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of the grant was to develop and implement a context-based tri-level coaching model for pre-service teachers interested in becoming better equipped to teach English language learners at the K-12 levels. Presently Diane serves as the Co-Director of the Pathways Intern Grant as well as teaching courses in the single subject credential program.
