I always enjoyed writing assignments in school, and when my mom died when I was fifteen, writing became a grieving, healing tool. I didn't realize just how much until later in life, when I was in my forties. This is when my sister found a box of various items I had left at her house, and she sent them to me. In the box were many of my writings I had saved. My daughter and I began reading them, and a great deal of them were about my mom.
