Later, Zamir rose to the rank of Major General in the Israeli Defense Forces. In 1968, the Palestinian terrorists, Black September, attacked and murdered Israeli athletes competing at the Munich Olympics, Zamir, as the Director of Mossad, and Prime Minister, Golda Meir, launched Operation Wrath of God. The mission was to assassinate the terrorists involved, ignoring Israeli policy and accepted international rules of engagement. It was designed to awaken the world that Israel will have retribution against those who attack them. There would be a price to pay for killing Jews. Like Zamir, the author refuses to accept the destruction of Israel as inevitable and believes that unorthodox and creative actions must be taken to prevent it. His protagonist, Jake Zimmer, is willing to do anything to find the elusive peace. The author hopes Director Zamir finds the premise of this novel compatible with his views and hopes you, the reader, find this story to be a good read and thought-provoking.
