These poems are Israeli in particular, dealing with Israel's history in modern times, with Biblical associations the conditions of life and Vinner's observations, love, struggles, and in this way the particular becomes universal. Vinner has an acute awareness of the shape and nuances of what he brings into the sphere of his poems. The poems, the poetics, are lovely, a pleasure to read and contemplate.
