The Missionary Education of Engineers (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781025845678)

"The Missionary Education of Enginners" explores the intersection of professional technical training and global religious service. Authored by Jessie Eleanor Moore, this work addresses the unique potential of engineers and technical professionals to contribute to the missionary movement through their specialized skills. The text argues that the practical expertise of the engineer is an essential component of modern outreach, providing the infrastructure and development necessary to support community well-being alongside spiritual growth.

The volume serves as a comprehensive guide for mission leaders and educators on how to integrate vocational training with missionary purpose. Moore details the pedagogical approaches required to prepare technical workers for the challenges of foreign service, emphasizing the importance of a well-rounded education that encompasses both mechanical proficiency and a deep commitment to service. By focusing on the role of the engineer, the work highlights a significant shift in early 20th-century missionary strategies toward professionalization and practical ministry. This book is an insightful resource for understanding the historical development of vocational missions and the evolving relationship between industry, education, and faith.
