The MND Diet: Volume 2: Turning Off the Microglial Fire in MND (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798184347103)

About the Book
In the MND Diet Volume Two, clinical authority meets understanding to hand families navigating Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Motor Neuron Disease (MND) an uncompromising, scientifically rigorous day-by-day battle plan.
While Volume One established the structural foundations of real-food fats and essential nutritional boundaries, Volume Two serves as the advanced internal security upgrade and electrical rescue mission. Written in a comforting, accessible tone that translates complex biochemistry into clear, everyday analogies, this book empowers patients and caregivers to step in, flip the biological switches, and aggressively halt cellular destruction.
The book strips away intimidating medical jargon, revealing that the central nervous system is a busy manufacturing city where motor neurons act as highly advanced factories. When under siege, these factories experience a catastrophic electrical showdown known as "Glutamate Excitotoxicity," where an uncontrolled surge of calcium blows the internal circuit breakers, smashes the mitochondrial power generators, and triggers neuronal death.
Volume Two exposes the hidden environmental triggers pulling the master fire alarm-specifically, the overgrowth of Gram-negative bacteria like E. coli in a modern diet high in sugar and processed fats. When these invaders multiply, they shed toxic endotoxins that bore physical holes through the gut lining (the fireplace screen), letting sparks leak into the blood and travel straight to the brain. This forces the brain's immune cells (the microglia) into a panicked, destructive state where they swing heavy axes instead of protecting the house.
This book provides the precise toolkit to fight back:

• The Border Patrol (Caprylic Acid): A targeted, natural weapon that dissolves the armor of E. coli at the source.
• The Clean-Up Crew (Natural Binders): Heavy-duty structural magnets like activated charcoal and zeolite clay to safely catch and flush out toxic debris during the "Storm Before the Calm" (the Jarisch-Herxheimer die-off reaction).
• The Calcium Traffic Cop (Vitamins D3 & K2 as MK-7): A mandatory boundary shield that polices calcium traffic, locking it into bones and keeping it completely out of delicate neural pathways.
• The Station Captain (High-Dose Thiamine / Vitamin B1): A heavy rescue infusion that walks straight into the cell to call off the false alarm and protect the mitochondrial generators.
• The Factory Key (Whey Protein Isolate / Leucine): A rapid-delivery vehicle to manually flip the cellular circuit breaker (mTOR) back to "ON," instantly restarting tissue repair and signaling the microglia to drop their axes.

What's Included

• The Tactical Protocol: A step-by-step, daily schedule breaking down therapeutic-grade dosages and timing to maximize absorption and eliminate guesswork.
• 30 Targeted, High-Calorie Recipes: An intervention-focused recipe section filled with calorie-dense, nutrient-rich meals, soups, and mousses designed specifically for easy swallowing and blending.
