The Names We Leave Behind (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798280312142)

"Susan Watson was not her name. It had never been her name, but it was the identity she had adopted in a moment of desperate need, fifteen years ago when she fled Spain under the cloak of night, and today she used again allowing her to slip back into a country that had changed her forever."

Set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War, this is not just the story of a fractured nation, but of individuals who fought battles both external and internal. They were not soldiers, nor were they leaders of revolutions. They were ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances. A writer whose words fought battles, his body could not. An actress and flamenco dancer whose passion gave life to a world that threatened to snuff out joy entirely. Their lives intertwined with unforgettable souls, like Federico Garcia Lorca, a brilliant poet whose voice was silenced by violence, and Ernest Hemingway, whose fleeting presence brought insight and unease.

'The Names We Leave Behind' is about the small acts of resistance that kept the soul alive.

This novel, is a work of fiction, yet every battle, every struggle, every street, every location, and every corner, still stands, whispering echoes of a past that shaped countless lives.
