Not having a creative bone in his body, the author has relied for his plots on characters he has known, places he has lived, and historical events that have influenced him in his lifetime in the hills. If the stories appear to be genuine, it is because of this foundation in reality. Still, they are, in fact, fiction. The only exception is FINA, a true account. Nothing in the stories is meant to disparage any actual person, place, or event.
