Tuhin Sanyal loves poetic strain. This love affair dates back to his school days which he prefers to call "the wonder years of cadence". Tuhin is presently an Assistant Professor in English at Tufanganj College in Cooch Behar, India. Though an educator, he dubs himself "a student who pleasures in reading Keats, Coleridge, Plath, Hughes, Yeats, Eliot and Gibran." In the year 2002, the University of Calcutta awarded him with an M.Phil. degree (in English) and applauded his thesis, Yeats and the Dialectics of his Imagination, which was written out of sheer passion for the Yeatsian gyres, where Tuhin dealt in irreconcilable binaries - Matter and Anti-Matter, Self and Anti-Self, Man and Woman, Time Past and Time Future, Life and Death. Tuhin is a published poet and has authored books like White, Blue and Other Poems (2004) and Phoenix on a Female Body and Other Poems (2009), both published by Writers Workshop, Calcutta.
