About the author Banham David is an experienced writer with a background in copywriting and PR. The Novelista is his first published novel, but he plans to write further books based on the same characters. He lives in the East Midlands, near to Rutland Water and the historic market towns of Oakham and Stamford. Divorced some time ago, he has a new partner sharing his life. His two children live and work in London. Asked about the experience of writing a debut novel, Banham said: "I thought I would enjoy the task of creating, developing and controlling my characters, but they ended up developing themselves and controlling me!" The Novelista demonstrates this evolution. Starting in a measured way, unexpected occurrences soon disturb the pace of the book. Structure starts to fracture, then, as the pace increases, the main characters find their own catharsis in the melt-down of the final denouement.
