The One is the second book in the Psych 'n' Roll Mystery series authored by Ira Kalina. Dr. Kalina is a clinical psychologist with over forty years experience treating individuals, couples, and families, and supervising professional students. He has worked as an English teacher in the New York City school system, and as a professor of marriage and family therapy at Hofstra University in Long Island. Dr. Kalina has always had a passion for writing mysteries and thrillers. His passion began as a young boy who loved to watch television mystery shows like "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and the "Twilight Zone." His fifth grade teacher remarked that he had a penchant for writing twists, turns, and surprise endings and that he should cultivate that skill. He never forgot her encouragement and continued to write mystery tales at various times of his life. Ten years ago, he decided to become more serious about his writing and enrolled in the Writers Studio in New York City where he still receives instruction through personal work with faculty member Joanne Naiman. Currently, he is working with her on a third novel, "Whatever Happened to Sammy Span," a story about a missing rock star and the journalist friend who's determined to find him. Ira Kalina lives on Long Island. He is married and is the father of two adult sons.
