Industrial papermaking comes to the west bank of Willamette Falls in 1890, becoming part of America's second largest paper company in 1928. The West Linn Paper Company continues its proud heritage today.

His second book, My Best Teachers: Father Time and Mother Nature (2014) is an autobiography. Robert leads school children on nature hikes in his role as a volunteer naturalist. Bob is married with two grown children, and three grandchildren. He is grateful for a blessed life and his rescue dog Moxie.
