This is an honest account of how I live with anxiety and depression. I've had a lot of trauma in my life and honestly thought I was bigger than my issues. I believed I was okay. In 2013, I went spiraling into this black hole that had no bottom. I wanted to end it all. I had my first major panic attack and it took me over an hour to calm my rapid heartbeat. A few weeks after that happened, I had a major breakdown. I call this period the "great flood". It took a pause, a very long one to realize a lot about myself and how to face my trauma, the root of my depression.I now self-manage my depression. Some days are great, some not so great. However, understanding my sadness and darkness have helped attain a sturdiness no obstacle can easily break. I feel some peace and continue to improve as the months pass by. I share a bit of what I do, hoping to inspire others who were or are in these stranger's shoes. Because depression doesn't feel like you, does it? Let's walk and talk about how we truly feel so that we can finally begin to heal.
