The journey down the rabbit hole continues in The Quantum Calls Back.
It's months later in 1979, and Dr. Randall Biedermeier, Dr. B, is still trying to keep his head above water in the Radiation Oncology Department of the Hobbes VA hospital. More inexplicable events keep baffling him. Besides the expected patient conundrums, his new nurse, Elisa Angeles, deals with an unwanted pregnancy and cancer. At home, his two grade schoolers display unusual predictive skills.
These strange, unexplainable events are beginning to chip away at Dr. B's rational worldview. Suspecting unusual forces are at play, he does a deep dive into quantum biology. He forms an informal study group, the Quantum Entanglement Group (QEG). Comprised of physicists and psychiatric specialists, they devise tests of mental communication. The results convince them that nonverbal, nonauditory communication can occur, even between people with no unusual mental skills.
As Dr. B. struggles to make sense of it all, he pleads with the universe for a "break". But the universe hands him more than he bargained for. He muddles though a major setback with help of his cat, Milky Way. He concludes that we all exist in an enigmatic world of quantum entanglement wherein all living things are connected, past, present and future. Furthermore, we must constantly reassess what exactly our reality is.
