The River Never Stopped Flowing: Filled with Fire (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798258893604)

They said the river stopped. History disagrees.

For two thousand years the institutional church has wrestled with a question it cannot quite silence: Why don't we see what they saw in Acts? The healings. The deliverances. The upper rooms full of fire. The answer is not that God stopped moving. The answer is that the church - at key moments in history - chose structure over Spirit, respectability over revival, and theology over encounter.

The River Never Stopped Flowing traces two thousand years of evidence that Spirit-empowered Christianity never ceased. From the Early Church Fathers - Tertullian, Hippolytus, Irenaeus, and Novatian - who described tongues, healing, and prophecy as normal Christian life in the first three centuries, through the great revivals of every generation and continent, to the generals who refused to accept powerless Christianity as normal.

The Moravian outpouring of 1727. Cane Ridge, 1801 - called America's Pentecost. The Ulster Revival, 1859. The Welsh Revival, 1904, where one hundred thousand were converted in five months and jails went empty. Topeka, Kansas, 1901. Azusa Street, 1906. The Korean awakening of 1907. The Hebrides, 1949. Argentina. Asbury. The river broke through in every generation, on every continent, among every kind of people - because the promise was never withdrawn.

Featuring the testimonies and teachings of Wesley, Wigglesworth, Sumrall, AA Allen, Schambach, Ray H. Hughes, BH Clendennen, André Van Zyl, Jonathan Shuttlesworth, and Russell Johnson - generals who kept the fire burning when the institution tried to put it out.

Woven throughout is the author's own testimony: a mother healed instantly in a church aisle in Dayton, Ohio while the minister never even touched her - with medical proof that followed. A thirteen-week revival in Newport, Kentucky where a blind woman received her sight, devils were cast out, and forty-five young people fell under the Shekinah Glory in an upper room. Hundreds of men delivered from addiction by the power of the Holy Ghost when every human program had already failed. And three children encountering God in moments that still stop time - a daughter kneeling at the couch in the middle of the night whispering "Daddy, isn't it wonderful when God just hugs you?"; another tugging a sleeve on New Year's Eve with tears on her face saying "I want to go pray"; and a son, slain in the Spirit with his hands raised, speaking in other tongues on his father's thirty-eighth birthday.

This is not a theological debate. It is a court case - and the witnesses are everywhere.

"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." - Acts 2:39

The river is still flowing. How deep are you willing to go?
