C. Craig Coleman grew up in the small Eastern North Carolina town of Kinston in the golden age of youth. Back then, kids dashed out the door on Saturday morning, took to bicycles, and explored the world around them unrestrained, only returning home for dinner in the late afternoon. He scampered over fields and swampy low grounds, investigating and collecting anything that moved and half the flora he came across. That gave him the knowledge of the natural world that backgrounds his stories. He attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a BA degree in Ancient and European History. He served his country in the Vietnam War, repairing the display computers on the Air Force's F111D aircraft, though not in the Vietnam theater. Then he audited agriculture courses at North Carolina State University for a year before returning to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with a Masters of Business Administration. A long career in the textile industry ended with a company buyout in the imploding industry. Finding himself looking 'outside the box' for future options, a seed suggestion to write down some stories, planted by a professor of literature in his youth, germinated. He decided to write a fantasy story, with no inkling it would lead on to the greatest adventure of his life. With the success of his six-book Neuyokkasinian Arc of Empire epic fantasy series, Coleman decided to expand his writing repertoire and begins here with The Rattling Crate.
