Simon Reece de Sousa has lived on four continents Europe, Africa, South America and now Asia. As a child he always loved creating stories, and was constantly being told off by his teachers for not concentrating, as he disappeared into his own little dream world. Having studied six different European and Middle-Eastern languages at University, while working part-time as a musician, Simon now works as a translator and language teacher. He also runs a small music studio at the international community where he lives in rural India with his Argentinian wife and ever expanding collection of world music instruments (over 20 at the latest count). The seed for The Rose in the Eye of the Storyteller was first planted when Simon was travelling across North Africa, but it took many years for it to blossom and grow. Originally it was to have been the anarchic tale of a modern writer and his search for identity through his sub-conscious. But as the seed germinated, the writer metamorphosed into a storyteller who lived in the lands and times of the Arabian Nights.
