The Round of Life is a novel written by A. Wildes and published in 1871. The story revolves around the life of a young woman named Edith, who is forced to navigate the complexities of Victorian society. Edith is born into a wealthy family and is expected to marry well, but she is not content with the traditional roles assigned to women. She longs for independence and intellectual stimulation, but finds herself limited by the expectations of her family and society. As Edith grows older, she finds herself caught up in a series of romantic entanglements, including a passionate affair with a married man. She struggles to reconcile her desires with the expectations placed upon her, and must ultimately make difficult choices about her future. The Round of Life offers a vivid portrait of Victorian society, with its rigid class structure, strict moral codes, and complex social rituals. It explores themes of love, marriage, and the role of women in society, and offers a powerful critique of the limitations placed upon women during this era. Through Edith's journey, the novel provides a compelling commentary on the challenges faced by women in the 19th century and the ways in which they sought to assert their independence and autonomy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
