THE SAINT WITH A CRIMINAL PAST: The Astonishing Rise of Saint Moses the Black

He murdered men. The Church calls him Father.

He was a slave with a bounty on his head. A gang leader feared across Egypt. A man whose anger left villages in ashes. He had blood on his hands, chains on his soul, and every reason to believe he was too far gone.

Then he walked into the desert and found the one thing stronger than his past: Mercy.

This is the true story of Saint Moses the Black, the 4th-century outlaw who became one of the most beloved fathers of the Church. He could not read, but he lived the Gospel. He was denied the priesthood, but he died a martyr. He was called a murderer to his face, and answered, "I too was once in darkness."

From the cistern he filled in silence, to the chapel where he laid down his sword, to the sand his blood consecrated, Moses proves one shattering truth: No one is too late for grace. No scar is too deep for God to write over. No name is too stained for heaven to call "Beloved."
