This study has collected the growing concern of Physical Education teachers about the scarcity and state of abandonment of sports facilities in secondary schools in the municipality of Gij. The seriousness of the situation is such that in certain centres there are school periods in which the students have to stay in the ordinary classroom, receive class in a small porch, in the corridor, in the changing rooms, get wet when it rains, share small spaces with other groups or, in the best of cases, give class in a tiny gymnasium. The results have revealed a situation of precariousness and lack of concern on the part of the educational administrations for these spaces, in such a way that only one of the 13 schools meets the minimum requirements set out in the regulations. Physical Education is the only form of physical activity that reaches 100% of the population, so investment in these infrastructures should be a priority and non-negotiable in order to start teaching quality classes, fulfilling the teaching programs and minimizing risks to the physical integrity of the students.
