From the author of Animal Utopia and Daily Life Ethics comes a "mind-bending mystery" about a detective who gets involved in the case of a sanctimonious rich man.

Ray was the leading detective in the country. A man known for his prudent case-solving skills, he was beloved by his colleagues, friends and family, especially his wife. His wife was the most precious person he had, but after her loss, things began to swindle left and right. To ensure he does not lose his sanity, the department sends him to a therapist.

But he is called back sooner than he thought.

Now, a case emerges involving the oil spills in the sea. A family of rich oil businessmen are involved. Ray, known for his reputation to solve complex cases, is given the lead role in this investigation. As clues point to a closure, Ray senses the case has more than it meets the eye. An informer's information leads him to discover about the enigmatic S.S.

As soon as he begins to dig into this mystery character, ominous things start to happen. Ray knows that he has stepped on someone's nerves.

He has many questions that will need answering before the oil spills stop once and for all. But until that happens, Ray wonders if this case will be like his previous ones: solvable. Who is S.S? How is he involved? Why does everything point towards him? For the first time in his investigative career, he senses fear...
