I was born in southwest ND to a farm family during the Great Depression and lived through the remainder of the depression and WWII. For primary school I mainly attended one room country schools where all 8 grades were in the same room. I attended our local high school in Lefor, ND and attended the University of North Dakota where I graduated with a degree in mathematics and received my officer commission through the Air Force ROTC program. I served in the Air Force as a meteorologist for several years in France and India. When I was transferred back to the US I spent several years as a Minuteman Missile Controller. After my military career I worked in the private business arena in the data processing field, until retirement.
