Ned Webb's work has appeared in The Atlanta Journal, TV Guide, and The Cincinnati Enquirer Magazine. His first book, From Last to First, is a biography of the late stock car driver Neil Bonnett. He and Terry Bisson co-wrote the NASCAR series Pole Position Adventures (Harper & Row) under the pen name T.B. Calhoun. He is a Tennessee native and holds a Ph.D. in crystallography from the California Institute of Technology. He raced stock cars in the 70's with Neil Bonnett and others. He has run marathons, including the Boston Marathon, and completed a 100-mile endurance race in Vermont. He has climbed a number of mountains (Mt. Rainier among them). Co-author Kalinde C. Webb is the daughter of Ned Webb. She teaches English and trains for marathons in Oxford, Ohio, where she lives with her husband and two daughters; from 1993 to 1999, she and her husband taught in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her running adventures include the original marathon from Marathon to Athens, Greece, and the Boston Marathon. Ned and Kalinde both draw on their running and mountaineering experiences in writing The Short-Legged Fisherboy Of The Land Of Left.
