The Silent Letter

A Raven Creek Files Novel

by Daniel Parton

A forgotten letter. A preacher's death. A town built on silence.

When retired postmaster Zeke Hammond discovers a sealed envelope hidden in his attic-addressed to the Raven Creek sheriff in 1987-he expects an old complaint or lost tax form. What he finds is a confession.

"I killed Preacher Grady Wilkes."

- Beatrice Langley

But Wilkes died of natural causes. Or so the town believed.

Now, Sheriff Cole Taggart must reopen the past: a church fire long buried, a girl who stopped speaking, and a woman who may have killed to protect someone no one else would. As Cole, forensic nurse June Taggart, and investigative podcaster Abby Stratton uncover the layers of cover-up, guilt, and faith-warped power, Raven Creek begins to fracture.

Some say Beatrice was a murderer.

Others say she was the only one who ever told the truth.

In a town where silence once protected the powerful, the truth is finally breaking through the soil.
