The era when The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dave Clark Five, and other singing groups that complemented the "British Invasion" had great influence to the Filipino youth alongside the Leninism-inspired themes, which had to be but cut short when Marcos closed down the media networks and deprived his people of access to entertain themselves. Get ready to suppress your emotion as you will gasp for your breath reading "The Sins of the Fathers" when its future was very far from the Internet and the accompanying social media forms of today.

RAF ECHANOVA grew up in the Philippines. He became a youth leader at 15; a radio host and a writer at 16; and one of the awardees of the outstanding youth leaders of the Philippines of the prestigious Magnolia Youth Achievement Awards at 18. He graduated in Wesleyan University-Philippines with the degree of Bachelor of Arts Major in Mass Communications. At twenty, he became a sales executive of a multinational appliance manufacturing giant Matsushita Electric, selling Panasonic products in northern Philippines. Later he became an executive of a local appliance dealership. Raf continued his quest as a writer and radio broadcaster when he migrated to the United States. He has published at least three novellas and is now aiming to build up his back list of short stories, novels, fan fictions and more in the near future. CARLOS D. MARQUEZ JR., a freelance journalist from the Philippines, has worked in various Manila broadsheets and contributed to the online science magazine SciDev.Net. He was finalist in the Jaime V. Ongpin Awards for Investigative Journalism in 1996 and in Gawad Galing for Biotech Journalism in 2005 in Manila. He edited various community papers in Nueva Ecija province in the Philippines including the most recent Nueva Ecija Gold, a business tourism magazine. He has also co-authored two books in the Philippines, "Democracy at Gunpoint" (by Vera Files and Asia Foundation) and "The Pains of Success" (by PhilRice).
