The Space Between (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798256066215)

Ellie Richardson came to Ironleaf Logistics for one reason: a fresh start. A seasonal warehouse job is supposed to be temporary- just a way to keep moving forward after everything she's lost. Then she meets James. James Carter runs safety for the entire building, which means he notices everything: hazards on the floor, shortcuts in procedure... and the new hire who pays a little too much attention during training. At forty-five, James has built his life on discipline, control, and boundaries. At twenty-five, Ellie is rebuilding hers from the ground up.They shouldn't matter to each other, but late-night shifts have a way of pulling people closer. Conversations linger longer than they should. Glances last a second too long. And the line between professional and personal starts to blur. What begins as quiet curiosity becomes something harder to ignore- something dangerous in a place where one mistake can cost everything. Because in a warehouse full of rules, cameras, and watchful coworkers...Some risks are impossible to report. And the closer Ellie and James get, the harder it becomes to stay on the safe side of the line
