Vanessa Arthur Jenkins was born in New Bern, North Carolina and raise there living in Pollocksville growing up. Her ancestors are early American's, hard working farmers. She is a Mother and Grandma, and Greatgrandmother. She is an accomplished artist in pastel chalk, watercolor and pencil. Most of her career was spent on the North Carolina Coast painting the Seascapes. Her drawings of her childhood displays a warm and sweet primitive effect, which adds to the simple story that was written specifically for her children but she is happy to share them. She has since retired to Homestead, Florida and continues her art and writing.
