The Sweet Nothings: In Black and White (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798862046618)

Black and white version.

At the intersection of pop culture and mental health, Max Kenkel sits on a park bench with two devils on his shoulders. One of them is Anger, the other Apathy, and they are most definitely whispering sweet nothings. Luckily, their collective devilish powers work against each other, creating a precarious equilibrium - very angry about things in general, but too lazy to do anything about it.

Join Max as he explores the sheer stupidity of life, mental health, and dealing with complex emotions, then find out together if there's anything hopeful in a world filled with the overwhelming and the mundane. If you thought this review was way up it's own ass, wait until you read the book!

Part poetry book, part graphic novel, Max uses a unique take on illustrations. By plugging his poems into an AI art generator, he truly rolls the dice on his creativity, letting his words guide the machine to create a perfect marriage of diction and depiction, ultimately giving creative license to a fake reality, which, let's face it: nothing could be closer to the truth.
