The Thing In Blackwater Lake (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798234097361)

The first rule of Blackwater Lake is simple:

Never go in after dark.

The second rule is never follow voices across the water, even if the voice sounds like someone you love.

The third rule is the one nobody writes down, because writing it down would mean admitting it is true.

If you hear the bell, someone is already gone.

Sixteen-year-old Lenore "Lenny" Bellweather has spent years documenting Hollow Creek's disappearances, legends, and impossible events in her private archive, The Hollow Creek Files. Most people think she is just the town's resident goth girl with a strange obsession.

Lenny knows better.

When a late-night dare at the forbidden north dock ends with Mason Reed being dragged beneath Blackwater Lake by something with pale hands and too many joints, the town is quick to call it an accident.

But Lenny was there.

She saw the hand.

She heard the bell.

And when Mason's phone begins sending messages from somewhere beneath the water, Lenny realizes he may not be dead.

He may be trapped.

To save him, Lenny must uncover the truth about a drowned town, a forgotten chapel, and an old mistake tied to her own family's bloodline.

Because Blackwater Lake does not just take people.

It remembers their voices.

And now it knows Lenny's name.
