The Things That Hold: Stories We All Share (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798280216136)

"The Things That Hold: Stories We All Share" is a simple verse tribute to the moments we all share and agree on, regardless of all other differences we may have. If you want an "us vs. them" book, this ain't it. There are too many of those already. This book is all "us" and no "them."

Moments like: How it feels to hold your newborn child for the first time. How it feels when the voice on the 3am phone call says "you need to sit down." How it feels to walk away and start all over. How it feels to watch someone you love get married. How it feels to bury your hero.

We all experience these things the same way. The pride, the fear, the regret, the joy, the confusion, the doubt, and most of all, the love - it's the same. It's the same for all of us, and don't let anyone tell you any different, no matter what their shirt says or their car says or what they said in an Internet comment last week or who they voted for. It's the same, and we're the same. "The Things That Hold" is a timeless tribute to all that makes us human.

25% of the profits from this book are donated to the Night Stalker Association. The US Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment -- the "Night Stalkers" -- are an elite special operations force that flies missions usually at night, often with no lights, at high speeds, low altitude, and very little notice. The Night Stalker Association is a nonprofit organization that provides services to living members and their families, and the families of members who have passed away.
