The Torso Killer: Richard Cottingham's Forgotten Crimes (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798247564553)

Some killers leave behind bodies.

Others leave behind silence.

For decades, Richard Cottingham was known as the Torso Killer-a name whispered in courtrooms, buried in cold case files, and overshadowed by louder monsters of his era. While parts of his crimes were prosecuted, many stories remained fragmented, misfiled, or forgotten altogether.

The Torso Killer: Richard Cottingham's Forgotten Crimes reopens those files.

Drawing on court records, investigative reports, media archives, and recent confessions, this gripping true crime account reconstructs the lesser-known murders connected to Cottingham-crimes that slipped through jurisdictional cracks, investigative blind spots, and the limitations of their time.

But this is not just the story of a serial killer.

It is the story of:

• Victims whose names faded while their killer endured
• Investigations stalled by fragmented evidence and institutional failure
• A predator who operated in plain sight for years
• And the long, uneasy road toward accountability-decades later

Written with restraint, precision, and respect for those affected, this book examines how violence can hide in the margins of history-and what it takes to bring it back into the light.

Disturbing, meticulously researched, and deeply unsettling, The Torso Killer is essential reading for true crime audiences seeking more than shock-readers who want understanding, context, and the truth behind the headlines.
