The Tragedy of Hungary: An Appeal for World Peace (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781025513508)

The Tragedy of Hungary, an Appeal for World Peace is a profound historical and political examination of the state of Hungary following the cataclysmic events of the First World War. Written in the early 1920s, this work serves as both a scholarly analysis and a passionate plea for international justice. The author, Louis K. Birinyi, meticulously explores the consequences of the Treaty of Trianon, arguing that the territorial dismemberment of the Kingdom of Hungary created a volatile environment that threatened the long-term stability of the European continent.

Birinyi provides a detailed account of Hungary's historical contributions to Western civilization and its role as a defensive bulwark throughout the centuries. By highlighting the perceived injustices of post-war settlements, the work seeks to inform the global community about the socio-political plight of the Hungarian people and the risks of ignoring ethnic and national boundaries. This volume is an essential resource for those interested in 20th-century diplomacy, Central European history, and the evolution of international peace efforts. It remains a significant reflection of national sentiment during a period of intense geopolitical transition, offering deep insights into the complexities of sovereignty and the pursuit of a lasting global harmony.
