The Treatise Of Athenagoras (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781419185830)

The Treatise of Athenagoras is a book written by Athenagoras, a Christian apologist who lived in the second century AD. The book is a defense of Christianity against the accusations made by the pagan society of that time. Athenagoras argues that Christianity is not a threat to the social order, but rather a positive influence on it. He also defends the Christian belief in the resurrection of the dead and the existence of only one God. The book is written in a logical and persuasive style, and it provides valuable insights into the early Christian church and its struggles to gain acceptance in the Roman Empire. The Treatise of Athenagoras is an important work of Christian literature and a testament to the courage and faith of early Christian apologists. For either death is the entire extinction of life, the soul being dissolved and corrupted along with the body, or the soul remains by itself, incapable of dissolution, of dispersion, of corruption, whilst the body is corrupted and dissolved, retaining no longer any remembrance of past actions, nor sense of what it experienced in connection with the soul. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
