The Ultimate Ball Python Care for Beginners: The Complete Owner's Guide to Enclosure Setup, Feeding, Handling, and Preventing the Most Common Health P (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798188065607)

Your ball python won't eat. You've read six websites and gotten six different answers - and none of them explained why.

If you're bringing home your first ball python (or trying to fix a setup that isn't working), this is the book that finally treats you like an adult who can understand why, not just what to buy.

The Ultimate Ball Python Care for Beginners walks you through every stage of ownership in the order that actually matters: understanding the animal, choosing a healthy snake, building an enclosure that mimics its natural burrow environment, mastering feeding, and reading its body language with confidence. Written by Ellie Ashford, this fully illustrated guide replaces the vague, contradictory advice circulating online with real numbers - exact temperatures, humidity ranges, prey sizes, and timelines - grounded in current husbandry standards, not outdated hobbyist folklore.

Inside, you'll learn:

• Why ball pythons refuse meals - and the exact troubleshooting method to fix it
• How to build a thermal gradient and humidity setup that actually works
• The truth about morphs and genetics, including which combinations carry real health risks
• How to read balling, tongue-flicking, and defensive behavior like a fluent keeper
• Shedding, handling, and a full health/first-aid chapter for catching problems early
• A printable care kit: shopping checklist, feeding chart, temperature log, shed tracker, vet-prep sheet, and emergency card

Where keepers genuinely disagree, you get both sides honestly instead of one opinion dressed up as fact. Where the science is settled, you get a straight answer.

A ball python can live 20-30 years. This book makes sure you start that relationship on solid ground - and keep it there.

Perfect for: first-time snake owners, reptile keepers upgrading their setup, gift-buyers for a new pet owner, and anyone who wants a reference that keeps working long after the first read.
