The Underground Sirens (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798187027569)

Beneath every city lies a second map.

At 2:17 a.m., emergency sirens begin sounding from sealed tunnels beneath subway systems around the world. Transit authorities insist the tunnels do not exist. Governments blame equipment failures. Then the doors begin opening.

Behind the walls are stations built before the cities above them. Black trains arrive without drivers, carrying passengers who vanished during fires, floods, wars, earthquakes, and transportation disasters. None of them has aged.

Dr. Mara Ellison recognizes one of them immediately.

Her brother Evan disappeared during a subway flood twenty-two years ago. He looks exactly as he did the night he vanished. He remembers their childhood, their private jokes, and the gift he hid before her birthday.

But something about him is wrong.

As poisonous vapor rises from subway entrances and millions dream of lost relatives waiting underground, governments begin directing frightened citizens onto the mysterious trains. The passengers claim the surface will soon become uninhabitable and that the underground system has saved civilizations before.

Mara discovers the horrifying truth: the trains are not escaping the disaster.

They are creating it.

Every living person who boards strengthens an ancient city buried beneath the world. Every missing passenger who returns is only a reconstruction built from memory, grief, and recognition. The more people believe in them, the more real they become.

With the evacuation spreading and the surface beginning to die, Mara must descend beyond the deepest tunnels to find the First Station. Stopping the system may save humanity-but it will also erase every reconstructed passenger, including whatever remains of the brother she has spent her life hoping to find.

Some shelters protect the living.

Others are waiting to replace them.

The Underground Sirens is a chilling standalone supernatural thriller filled with impossible tunnels, silent trains, buried cities, and the terrifying question of how far people will follow a familiar voice into the dark.
