While the cover says William Luckey is the author, in actuality it is Belinda Perry, writing under a different name, who has written a story revolving around the all-but-forgotten Ludlow Strike and Massacre of 1914. Ms. Perry's had written 24 other books, all but two under the William Luckey name. She has worked with horses since the age of 18, taking spoiled horses and retraining them to a more successful life, as well as being married, and a mother and grandmother. Ms. Perry's strengths are in her research and her ability to draw the reader into the stories with strong characters, whether good or bad, or like most of us a combination of such weaknesses and strengths.
