Don Stratton is a native of Adams County, Ohio, and grew up on a tenant farm. He moved to Lima, Ohio as a teenager, and graduated from Lima Central High School, Lima Technical College, and Rhodes State College. He served over 28 years as an active duty police officer with the Lima Police Department, working his way up to the rank of Inspector, serving as Uniform Division Commander and second in command of the department. Since retirement, he has served 25 years as an auxiliary police officer, often volunteering to work as a desk officer or other capacity within the agency. He wrote a weekly newspaper column for over 2 years, and this book chronicles some of the stories told in those columns, plus a lot more.
