The Wacker of Okanbia (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798188230173)

In the Kingdom of Okanbia, shoulders can get you killed... or crowned.

King Kofi Okanbi known as the Wacker rules with flamboyant authority, an obsession with "trustworthy shoulders," and a habit of issuing royal wacks on anyone who displeases him. When visiting delegations arrive for the Inter-Kingdom Games, Queen Maadei sees an opportunity to secure her daughter Ama's future through strategic matchmaking. But nothing goes according to plan.

As political intrigue brews among the outsiders, a secret romance blossoms between Princess Ama and Kojo, a brilliant but socially unremarkable craftsman and inventor. Meanwhile, the king's dementia deepens, his orders grow increasingly erratic, and a string of comically disastrous assassination attempts unfold in the hidden forest village where the "wacked" still live.

Narrated with razor-sharp wit and a Greek-style chorus that comments on the absurdity of power, The Wacker of Okanbia is a vibrant, satirical tale of tradition versus innovation, political theater, forbidden love, and the chaotic beauty of a kingdom on the brink of transformation.

Blending West African-inspired world building, Cubist artistry, polyrhythmic culture, and laugh out loud humor with heartfelt moments, this debut novel delivers a fresh, cinematic story where even the most ridiculous rulers can leave behind an unexpected renaissance.

Perfect for fans of The Fishermen, A Man of the People, and witty political satires with heart.

A story of shoulders, schemes, and second chances where the real power lies in who gets to write the final chapter.
