The humans gave them people to be experimented on and also false promises, in exchange the boffins would create an army for the humans and weapons that would herald a new beginning in the start of the genetically engineered imps and the army that would be used for their purposes, but in their act to play god they did not realize that sometimes playing god can be a fatal mistake.
